      Hi ,
      is PFsense for me ?

      I want to buy 4 dsl modems, from our isp and make load balance for our customer - approx 500 clients.

      our isp delivers modems with same ipadresses on lan side i.e. 192.168.254.254

      what I have in mind is :
      ISP–->dsl 4xmodems-192.168.254.254---> pfsense router ---> cache/proxy server---> 500- clients

      But will this ever work since modems are delivered with same adress, can you route to mac-adress or other smarter way ?

      Thank You
      Regards Tom-Pele

        Do the modems get static IP's? If so can you but the DSL modem in bridge mode and then use the static? The 192.168.x.x range is a reserved private IP. If you chose to do this you will need to enable a firewall rule to allow outbound to private ips Also squid (chaching proxy) will not work in a multi wan environment. I'm not the most knowledgeable person with pfsense as I just started using it not too long ago tho I love it.

          Greetings, What I did is put a linksys in front of each wan on the gateway and made the Lan ip's different on each off them. Did a 192.168.1.1 and 192.168.2.1 and 192.168.3.1 this worked on a three wan setup. I believe that four would not be too much different. I am hosting 300 with this setup. I Use opendns.org on the Gateway for the dns so I can block certain sites and p2p access. Hope this helps you with your issue. Regards

            No, dhcp , from isp
            WAN has other adress IP,88.83.x.x dynamic adress (public adress)
            the LAN side of modem is typically static and usually is 'builtin' 192.168.254.254

            Great ide with extra hop/gateway (linksys) though excessive amount of extra material.
            The bridge balancing sounds sound enough -though not really acquinted to it - so it's just a pool of mac -adress You can send through
            like 'smart vektor routing stuff ? ' - must read more about it later :
