Installing pfSense using UEFI mode

I've got a Dell Optiplex 7010 i7 computer that I want to install pfsense on. When I install using legacy bios it all works but the console screen is ugly. I've been told that will be fixed if I install using UEFI mode.
So I switch the box over to UEFI mode and it refuses to boot the memstick usb key.
Do I need to set the usb key up a special way to get it to boot UEFI? I tried to do this in Rufus and it says the ISO isn't bootable. Should I be using another install method?
I'd really like to give this a go, these machines will have VGA consoles and I'd like them to look a little better if possible. If not, I'll have to stick with legacy bios and ugly screens.
So any pointers on how I have to install pfSense using UEFI mode would be helpful.

Use this version to create a usb bootable drive.

Played around with it and eventually got it to boot from memstick, but after intsall it hung at the Consoles: EFI console.
I found a post on the FreeBSD forum which is exactly my problem on the very same hardware. No answers or workarounds (other than ugly manual process).

So to save myself headache's once this is running I'm going to stick with Legacy boot and the fuzzy console.

Someone can help me with the linux commands to set the console to something better.
