      I have a LEX System PC http://www.softpoint.at/media/Spezial%20PC/cv860a.pdf

      CV860A3R80
      VIA C3 EBGA 800Mhz
      3 x 10/100 RealTek
      20GB HDD

The HDD is attached as a Secondary Master!

I have a USB based CD ROM and USB Stick

I tried installing from both installation media but not going through.

Can some one tell me which is the installation media I need to download to install pfSense on this machine?

      Tks

The easiest way is: connect an IDE based CD-ROM.
USB CD-ROMs are known to be problematic.

Alternatively you could put the HDD into another computer and install pfSense there onto the drive.
After installing just plug it back.
pfSense will detect an NIC missmatch and rerun the wizard to assign the NIC's.

We do what we must, because we can.

Thanks for the suggestions.  the 1st option is not possible with this PC.

I will try the 2nd option.

Do you think the problem is related to HDD secondary master?

            no.
more likely due to to the usb-cd-rom.

Okay I have successfully installed to a CF card using the hacom image, and it works well now :)

Thanks to Bao from hacom who really guided me with lots of suggestions.
