2.4.2_p1 and Avahi daemon

After my 2.4.2_p1 upgrade, the Avahi daemon is running amok, taking 100% utilization of a CPU core. The following is the only thing resembling an error in the logs.
Dec 15 11:06:30 php-fpm 51781 /pkg_edit.php: The command '/usr/local/etc/rc.d/avahi-daemon.sh stop' returned exit code '1', the output was 'Stopping dbus. Waiting for PIDS: 68424.'
No issues with Avahi on 2.4.2. Disabling the Avahi settings and/or stopping the service has no effect. Removing the package and rebooting is seemingly the only corrective action.
