Swap File

Fellow Members:
What is the command to turn off the swap file in Pfsense 2.4.2 as I am installing a SSD.
Thanks for any assistance!

Don't bother with it, just leave it as-is :-)

Thanks John. I will take your advice. Installing a Samsung 850 Pro.

That one works well enough not to get any trouble from the swap :) Plus, as long as you have enough RAM and a reasonably static load, swap won't do much anyway.

John:
I have 16Gb as there are a number of packages running and a large wireless AP group.

Should be totally fine. If you want to be 100% sure, run smartctl in 6-8 months and post the results here.

Just don't create a swap slice when you install it to be sure. The default settings will create a swap slice twice the RAM size but you can use the manual settings and just not make one.

If you are using snapshots, report in the snapshots forum.
