      Running 2.4.1

Recently I am getting this message on my MacBook Pro (MacOS 10.13.2):

The name of your computer "My MacBook Pro (653)" is already in use on this network. The name has been changed to "My MacBook Pro (709)".

      The numbers just keep growing!

My WAPs are Apple Airport devices. Similarly if I restart them they get a (2) or (3) appended to the end of their name. If I power cycle pfSense and the Airport device this doesn't happen. This has been going on longer than the new issue with my laptop's host name.

All these devices are assigned to a static IP.

Any idea why this is happening? Starting with pfSense as root cause, but understand I might have to poke around the Apple or MacOS forums.

        Are you running Avahi ?

Switch it off if you are, caused me the same issues.

I am! I just disabled it. Bless you if this fixes the problem. Wasn't particularly troublesome, but was very annoying.
