Switch family DGS-1510

Hello,

one question. If I use a layer3 switch like the D-LINK DGS-1510 and my WIFI is on a VLAN (172.16.16.0/23) and my PfSense on an other VLAN (172.17.16.2/29), can I use the captative portal also?

My doubt are the MAC Adresses of the users. Normaly, by routing, the mac-address is not retransmited, but beeing a switch layer 3, I´m not sure if this will be the same like a pure router.

Or do you thing, that the PfSense should be better on the same VLAN?

It's fine, just don't configure the switch to modify your ethernet frames.
