On 1.2.1 if you do the setup wizard and set the WAN to use DHCP it will actually set the WAN to Static. You have to go in afterward and fix it through Interfaces->WAN.

I didn't see this behavior with 1.2.1RC1 but it appears in 1.2.1 final.

Yep, we're about to release 1.2.2 to address this and 3 other items.
