Hi i have two pfsense boxes, one is my gateway, the other is connecting one of my internal subnets, i enable RIP and activated it on both local interfaces, my problem is the boxes doesnt seem to get and update their routing tables aoutomaticaly from the RIP updates, i planned to add a couple more subnets and dont want to have to configure everything statically. thank you.

Did you active it on at least 2 interfaces on both machines?
If you dont enable it on at least 2 interfaces they wont exchange any information (no point to exchange nothing ;) )

Per DHCP or a static route.

Please first get a basic grasp of how routing works and what a routing table is.
A good place to start is:
                http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Routing
                http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Routing_table

Try modifyng the routing table of one pfSense via "System –> Static routes" and observe the changes under "Diagnostic --> Routes".
