I had trouble going from 2.3.4, got the unable to check for updates or even package information. I did some commands with pkg-static to upgrade it. It took forever, but sometime overnight it finished and I could access the GUI again, even though the Internet was up just about all that time at least. I noticed that it still is on the older FreeBSD version. It says the following. How do I go about correcting this and how would this even happen? Thanks.

      2.4.2-RELEASE-p1 (amd64)
built on Tue Dec 12 13:45:26 CST 2017
      FreeBSD 10.3-RELEASE-p19

The system is on the latest version.

i fixed by running "pfSense-upgrade" command. It saw kernel needed updating still and pushed it through.
