      Hi.
Something strange happens and I can not find the fault. I have a windows file server in a subnet (only workgroup, not AD). In my pfsense 2.4.2 I have in dns resolve the host section overrides my machine.domain.local with the network address 10.0.250.2. In all clients, pfsense is my DNS.

From another subnet I can ping this ip and if I ping machine.domain.local resolves correctly, but from the windows file manager if I type \ machine.domain.local asks me username and password and when I enter it then it tells me that can not because there is a duplicate name in my network. That is not possible since I only have this machine with that name. If I write \ 10.0.250.2 it also asks for the username and password and lets me access the shared resources.

The file c: \ windows \ system32 \ drivers \ etc \ hosts is of origin and therefore should not interfere. I have run an ipconfig / flushdns and it is still failing.

      Any idea?
      Thank you.
