I'm using it at home and at work. As I am a System, Network en Security consultant, I've got many companies now runing pfSense ;-). A dozen of them are runing a pfSense cluster and the other are runing on single machine with no failover. All are runing on 19" rack machine from DELL pe2850, HP DL 360/320, NEC or IBM x346 or x336. The max number of interfaces I've setup is 8 using intel NIC (dual and quad ports).
PfSense is really stable in the time and really powerfull, I have got it handling LANs from 25PCs to more than 3500 and also DMZ with many servers. I'm starting a new project wich is a hosting platform where I will use pfSense on a first line to permit bandwith monitoring and allocation as well as failover.Great work in other words ;-)

I use pfSense at home and at work. I'd like to use it as a firewall for servers in a datacenter but did not manage to make it work yet, but soon ;)

We have local (nonprofit) wireless network in our town and we're using pfsense for sharing adsl through the wlan for around 30 people. We have 3 adsl lines and 3 pfsense installations on old pentium II boxes. So far, pfsense is rock stable. We had Ipcop before on same boxes but it had some weird bugs like slowing down the connection without any obvious reason or even crashing. When we switched to pfsense these problems simply disappeared. Great product!

Same here, used to have IPcop but it was too buggy.

a couple of old Dell PE 2450 with 733 Mhz procs for the external firewall carp cluster, and a pair of Dell PE 850's for the internal lan router with 6 Intel GE ports.
Slightly diverse then.

More than 250 user are using a box consist in P4, 2,4 GHz, 256 MB RAM. Not all is perfect but it WORK. -
we using pfsense with ospf customisation, have about 20 nodes full pfsense and another 20 to migrate to pfsense.
some running clean firewall only some runing pppoe server with atheros wireless cards. most gear is wrap boards
edge gear is 1.2 ghz via boards throughputting about 300G per month.datacentre gear running pfsense since 0.24 how long ago was that very stable throughput not massive though.
four load balaced firewall configurations there.longest testbed deployment with ipperf www ftp on perl script 1 week throughput across 4 pfsense boxes,
throughput 60 m/bs sustained.
with 6 apache servers 2 ftp servers.hope it's usefull if i had more time i know a lot more people would be using it

got pfsense rc2h running on an ibm 1u with one 3Ghz intel 4 interfaces.
had 400+ users last week on one day, 250 avg for 3 other days. ran like a champ. Will be bringing up a dell poweredge 1850 with dual xeon 3.4s and 4 interfaces to be the primary in a carp pair soon.
