What is the EOL for 2.4.3-RELEASE ?
-
For how long is 2.4.3-RELEASE supported ? What is the EOL for 2.4.3-RELEASE ?
I tried Google but didnt find anything useful.
-
Any ideas ?
-
If it runs like before then 2.4 eol would be sometime after 1 year of release of 2.5
-
Typically support for version 2.n ends about one year after the introduction of version 2.(n+1)

When will 2.5 get released ?

If 'security' is an issue for you - and something says me it is, then 2.4.3 should be thrown away the (a couple of days after) day 2.4.x comes out.
Keeping it for a year might introduce hard-to-analyse security issues. So : wrong question from the wrong person.
edit : things get even better :

I advise you to check these messages on this forum from people who waited 'ages' to upgrade. It's often a messy story at best.
No good for security - packages won't run anymore - can't be re-installed anymore because not maintained for old versions - and, even if the pfSense team does a maximum to keep the upgrade path open, very strange non-known issues might arrive that force you to re install from scratch - and even redoing the setup.A year is very, very long when one talks about firewalls.

Okay I will do a fresh install.

Huh… Where did Gertjan say you should do a fresh install?
A fresh install might be good idea if your on say 2.1 trying to go to 2.4 etc.. But you should never be there, you should upgrade asap after new versions are released.. 2.4.x+1 and p1 and p2, if they release, etc..
When they make a statement on if any upgrade caveats, etc.. But I had upgraded through all the 2.x to 2.4... I only went fresh install when I moved to sg4860 vs VM, etc.

Sorry English is not my language so I struggle a bit. Okay If an in place upgrade is possible there is nothing better than that.
Thanks.
