Error: pfr update stats: assertion failed

I have Pfsense 2.4.2 setup for a school on a HP ML10 e3-1225. I'm having this message: pfr update stats: assertion failed, displayed on the pfsense console and network links are down. google search revealed it may be related to a race condition in the processor. I've cleaned the pfsense server and rebooted multiple times still the same.

Is that a single firewall or an HA cluster?

Was it working OK and then suddenly stopped?

Is it reachable locally on LAN or a management interface, or completely disconnected?

You could try a completely fresh reinstall with pfSense 2.4.3 rather than 2.4.2. Even if you don't have a backup, the installer can recover the configuration from the hard drive using the recovery option on the first screen of the installer.
