Can't access Internet!

  • I installed a PFSENSE. Wan ip set to DHCP to obtain. Lan ip is 192.168.1.1/24. DHCP client side to obtain 192.168.1.100/24, DNS is 192.168.1.1. Can not access the Internet. I manually set the Wan side IP to 210 .xxx.xxx.15/24, DNS is 8.8.8.8. The client side obtains the IP address 192.168.1.100/24, and the DNS is 8.8.8.8. It is possible to access the Internet. What is the problem?

  • @pain5020:

… , DNS is 192.168.1.1. Can not access the Internet. ...  DNS is 8.8.8.8. ... It is possible to access the Internet. What is the problem?

After install, just setup WAN - do not touch anything else like DNS (keep the Resolver with default setting) : it will work.

  • Ya man, don't get too fancy.  The default should work, THEN u can make config changes, and if after that is broke, now you know what broke it.

  • You don't mention anything about how you've set it up, but if it's virtualised and you haven't turned off hardware offload, then that's probably the problem.
