      Hey there,

I've gone through multiple installs trying to figure this one out. As others in various places have mentioned, Centurylink provides in some areas PPPoE with a Vlan tag for internet (201.) I've began my quest with a pfSense installation on my Proxmox box. After figuring out Vlan bridging and such I was able to seemingly connect to the Vlan. However, no matter what I tried, my authentication never works. (See logs below.) Even did bare metal install and was getting same auth problems.

I've verified twice that my username and password is correct and entered it into the C3000Z modem/router combo they provided at the $10 a month expense.

I've tried converting my password from/to base 64 because somewhere I found that when gathering it directly from telnetting into the modem, it gave it in base 64 and you needed to convert to give you the real password.

An example of fake login/password credentials are lastnameFirstname@quest.net and P6jx8Xfj

Any pointing in the right direction is appreciated.

      Example auth session:

Have you tried without any VLAN at all?  My office bonded connection works fine without it.  VLAN is at the bridged modem  Technicolor T2000 model here. Or is it C2000T  I forget..
