    Update to 2.4.4 now not booting

      Updated from 2.4.3_? To 2.2.4 just now.  Said update was successful and started reboot, but now isn't booting at all and cannot ping it …..help please!

        Hello,

        Do you have a connection to the console eg serial or vga?

        Make sure it's posting and starting to boot.

        That would be where I would start.

        If pfsense is not starting up you can always use rescue mode from the install media.

          OK, assuming you started at 2.4.3, which is the current public CE version, you upgraded to what?
          2.2.4 is years old and deprecated
          2.4.4 is not yet released and only available on the snapshot server.

            Hi - it's a mystery why the box was offering to upgrade to 2.4.4 … Anyway, I found another post where the person had a very similar experience and followed the instructions here: https://forum.pfsense.org/index.php?topic=138921.0.  It took half a dozen reboots to get to the splash screen, by which time the last good configuration had been overwritten so I had to install the complete 2.4.3 and then restore from an old backup .xml that I had saved to disk.
