Nokia IP330
-
Hello,
New guy here!!I am trying to load pfsense on a Nokia IP330, it actually deals with the old interface problem, but it drops the serial connection after it finishes booting.
Is there a way to keep the console connection active? I can not do an install, and I do not want to run off the live CD version. I can login to the web interface and check the "Activate Serial connection" stuff, but obviously have to reboot to get it connected up again, and loose my settings. It is a vicious circle.
Any help would be very appreciated.

Okay…to quote myself... :o)
Anyway...Here is what I ended up doing. I used the CD version, pulled the hard drive from the IP330, stuck it in my pc, installed from the CD Version and stuck the hard drive back in the IP330. I did not configure any IP Addresses, I just installed it. Once I got it back in the IP330, I just let it boot up, and use the default LAN ip address. I then connected via the LAN IP Address, and configured my system. I am surfing on it right now.
This is really a nice fork of monowall. I had used m0n0 for a year or so, and quit using it due to a (percieved) lack of what I wanted. You guys have fixed that, and I will be using pfsence for as long as you keep developing it.
Thank you all.

Thats good you got it working. What CPU speed is your nokia? I have a 166 MHz one (must have been the cheap model) and it won't accept a faster CPU.
If you have any other CPU speed I'd really appreciate a nice high-res photo of the CPU area - specifically JP2 and surrounds.
Also have a read of http://criggie.dyndns.org/tech/ip330/ and feel free to tell me stuff I don't know.

Mine is an AMD-K6-2 400 mhz chip. It has 2 slots for memory, one which is filled with 256 meg of PC100 memory.

Would you mind taking a good high-resolution photo of the CPU area, like this one?

I'm specifically interested in JP2.
