VLAN and PPTP gateway

My LAN is 10.10.0.0/16, gateway is 10.10.10.1

I have created a WAN2_pptp_buffalo interface which points to a StrongVPN server via PPTP. The local address of the interface (as required by PPTP) is 10.10.14.100. The WAN is up according to pfSense status.

However, if I attempt to set a rule that point to WAN2_pptp_buffalo_PPTP as a gateway, I cannot access the internet. I should mention that I have also tried to set a completely different local IP for WAN2_pptp_buffalo, e.g. 192.168.1.1 (with the intent to use a VLAN). If I do that, the interface goes down.

What am I doing that is wrong? Any help would be appreciated!
