      Hi All,

Have been on #pfsense and asked about this issue, but as yet nobody has
      come up with an answer/suggestion…

      This is my situation:-

I have the pfsense box setup as a IPSec VPN Server (+Mobile hosts) my
vpn client can connect and get to a stage where it asks for a
username/password no matter what I put in it says 'invalid user'

I have added a test user to the pfsense box via the web gui called
      'test' with a simple password.
I then added the option for 'User - Shell account access' but this
user is not able to login @ all, via SSH or via the VPN Client...

      My logs just show :-

      Jan 30 13:56:01        sshd[60594]: Failed keyboard-interactive/pam for invalid user testuser from xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx port 36203 ssh2
Jan 30 13:56:01        sshd[60594]: error: PAM: authentication error for illegal user testuser from xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx
Jan 30 13:56:01        sshd[60594]: error: PAM: authentication error for illegal user testuser from xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx
Jan 30 13:55:58        sshd[60594]: Failed none for invalid user testuser from xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx port 36203 ssh2
      Jan 30 13:55:58        sshd[60594]: Invalid user testuser from xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx

I get similar messages in the IPSec log as well, basically just saying
      that 'testuser' is invalid.

      Any help/comments/pointers/suggestions welcome…
