how to remove a lagg
-
Hello
our pfsense has a network lagg set up for LAN . LAGG0 members are em0 and em1 .
I want to remove the lagg and just use one nic [ em1] .
from console I've tried to set up WAN just using one of the nics, removed lagg config from the switch , rebooted, but get no network. [ ping test on lan fails]
using web page - i can not remove the lagg. " this LAGG interface cannot be deleted because it is still being used."
Does anyone have a suggestion for switching from lagg to single nic?

You need to remove the interfaces from the lagg first.

As Heper says remove the interface first than the lagg

I am sure it will work - will try before factory opens on Sunday.

Make sure you're connecting via an interface that isn't the lagg before you start since it would be very easy to lock yourself out making this change. So add a firewall rule and connect via the WAN if you don't have any other internal NICs. You won't be able to remove lagg0 while it's still assigned and assigning it will leave you with no LAN.
Since you can have a single NIC LAGG do this:
Edit lagg0 and remove em1 so that lagg0 is now only em0.
Now in Interfaces > Assign re-assign LAN as em1 directly.
Now you can delete lagg0 and use em0 however you wish.
