          my first post was wrong.

it's not the cvs_sync cause it.
even before cvs_sync, the pkg info already corrupt.

so, even a beta4 clean install from livecd already give that pkg info corrupt.
          (in my installation)

i think may be it's corrupted iso that i download,
          so i download once again.
          make sure md5 correct.
burn and verify the cd burn correctly using nero express.

then, do a clean install again.
still, the pkg info gives same error.

          didnt happen before b4.
even b3 that's upgraded (from web gui) to b4 didnt give this error.

i tried beta4 and rc1 clean install on two totally different computers.
(.iso file checked for correct md5 checksum)

both pc give the same pkg_info corrupt.

            any idea?

            tnx

None at all, sorry.  I have yet to see this problem manifest.

i'm trying out pfsense rc2 today and i also encountered that very same errors when i ran pkg_info, is the iso i downloaded corrupt?  do i need to cvsup just like in a regular freebsd box? is there already a ports-supfile somewhere?

                TIA

Did you actually install the ISO?  There are no ports files, the packages system uses binary packages.

And cvs_sync.sh has been disabled so you really should start a different thread as this is no longer related.
