I have been trying different QOS shaping tests with pfsense and ipfire. FQ_codel seems to be the forerunner by far.

I followed the instructions https://forum.netgate.com/topic/112527/playing-with-fq_codel-in-2-4/280 to get it working with pfsense however trying to set it up for voip, vpn, p2p, etc is not easy for the average joe.

Can the developers tell us if they are implementing it in the UI and a time frame please. I see many other users waiting patiently for this request.

You can watch the PR progress here, however there's no timeframe yet. I wouldn't hold my breath on it making 2.4.4. https://github.com/pfsense/pfsense/pull/3941

Ideally if it could be implemented in the multi lan/wan wizard, I would be overjoyed.

@zwck this message means that there aren't any merge conflicts.

it doesn't mean that it won't break anything else in the system, or that it's code that we want to take upstream and maintain.

hiii, thanks for the reply ivor. I think the fq_codle traffic shaping setup can only be beneficial for you as it probably reduces the amount of support questions from the community about traffic shaping, as its basically a blackbox and just works :D

For people that want it in the UI, why don't you take this code, apply it, and test it?
Then you can report back (including bugs)

That will give it much more chance to be included.
