Ive been trying to work this out on my own for a good couple weeks. Ive installed mysql, but it will not finish it's install process. Running "service mysql-server.sh start" gives "/usr/local/etc/rc.d/mysql-server.sh: WARNING: failed precmd routine for mysql"
There are no files in the rm /var/db/mysql/ directory. I think there is a privilege issue but I've tried changing directory groups, users and rights to no avail. Anybody have any guesses?

    Thanks
    Roger
