      Hi everyone,

      I am fairly new to pfsense and I need to migrate our current pfsense firewall to a new hardware with intel NICs and AMD quad core CPU.

      There are about 20-25VLANs that are set up on the current firewall and it has Realtek NICs.

      When I do the migration, do i just:

      1. backup the config
      2. install the latest version of pfsense on the new firewall
      3. use notepad++ to change interface names from re0 > igb0, re0_VLAN302 > igb0_VLAN302, etc
      4. load the config on the new router ??

      If someone could dumb things down for me and point me in the right direction, I would really appreciate it.
      Thanks a lot everyone!

        That's how I've done it in the past and it worked well for me.

        I would take care to NOT backup and restore additional packages, though. Reinstall them after the rest is working properly.
