      Hi,

i got some issues to install pfsense on a watchguard x550e. I got my card and installed freedos on it. When i start now the watchguard with the card in it i got one beep at the start and after some time 3 beeps. my watchguard still shows "Booting OS...". Now i don´t know where the problem is. I tested other cards but i get the same. 1 beep, 3 beeps and booting os but no console...
I think my problem is a wrong cable so i don´t get any console on putty or any other tool.
I think my cable has a wrong pinout but i haven´t found any instructions or information about the right cable.

      My cable pinout: 1-4, 2-3, 3-2, 4-1, 5-5, 7-8, 8-7, 9-9, S-S

I hope someone can help me with my problem or can tell me the right pinout so i can get the right cable.

EDIT: I use following config for putty...speed to 9600 baud, 8 data bits, 1 stop bit and no parity bit

      Greets

I have an x550e and I use a regular null modem cable. The pinout differs from your cable.

Exactly that ^. Your cable looks wrong. The serial terminal in the BIOS and FreeDOS is not very advanced and requires more than just 2, 3 and 5. You don't appear to have pin 6 wired.

Your cable will probably work fine with the WG-OS or pfSense though. If it doesn't you have some other issue.

            Thank you very much.
I will test this with a cable like you said.
