Solved : 2 Single port ethernet cards
-
This is my first time running pfsense. Im using an old hp pavilion p6727. I have two single port pci-e cards installed. Pfsense reads one as re0(set as wan) and the other as re1(set to lan). I set everything up and have a connection but my upload speed is slow. I switched wan to re1 and lan to re0 and this causes my download speed to be slow. How can I correct this?

Perhaps you have a defective NIC. Can you try another? As an experiment, you could get a live Linux CD and go to speedtest.net with each NIC.

How low are the speeds you're seeing? What do you expect to see?
How are the NICs connected? To what hardware?
If the speeds are very slow indeed I'd be looking at the negotiated link speed on each NIC. Check for errors on Status > Interfaces.

You were correct. The nic is defective. Thank you.

I was expecting 11mpbs and I was getting 2-3. The hardware is a quad core pavilion with 4gb of ram. It was a defective nic.
