      I am installing PFSense 2.4.3 on a brand new computer build with the following specs;
      Intel 8th gen Celeron processor
      Ballistix 8GB RAM
      120GB SSD drive
      ASRock microATX board

      I am installing using an iso image on a cd and get the message seen below;

      Error 22, Unretryable error
      cddone: got error 0x16 back
      READ(10). CDB: 28 00 00 04 85 b2 00 00 01 00
      CAM status: SCSI Status Error
      SCSI status: Check Condition
      SCSI sense: ILLEGAL REQUEST asc:26,0

      Being a newbie ti using PFSense, I am unsure what this is telling me in regards to completing the installation. Any help/advice would be greatly appreciated.

        Is that during the install or trying the boot installed OS afterwards?

        It appears to be some quirk with the drive controller. You might try a 2.4.4 snapshot which is built on FreeBSD 11.2 with slightly newer drivers:

        There appear to be some threads indicating changing the driver mode may get past that also.

          Steve,

          It is on the install itself. Just to make sure I'm understanding you correctly, you suggest trying the 2.4.4 image? I have no problems trying that because if it doesn't work it can always be blown away and started fresh again.

            Yes, try a 2.4.4 snapshot.

            Whatever issue you're hitting there may well have been resolved in FreeBSD 11.2.
