Strange Problem With Traffic Graphs After Fresh Install
-
Hi, I recently installed pfSense on a HP T620 Plus Thin Client. I have it up and running but have found I am now having a strange issue with Traffic graphs not displaying properly. Both the home page traffic graph widget and traffic graph found under the "Status" tab do not display correctly for a few minutes. The center line of the graph will move up and down and the traffic numbers will change but the "In" and "Out" will not display. . It's just blank!
I have noticed however that if I leave the pfSense main page open in the browser, open a new tab, do some web browsing, then return to the pfSense tab the traffic graphs may start working normally. This however doesn't last if I go to a different pfSense page and then return back to the main page to view the traffic graph widget. Once back on the main page the the traffic graph once again does not display properly.
Before moving to the HP T620+ I was using a home built pc for pfSense and I never saw this issue. I don't know if the new install got borked somehow, if its a hardware compatibility issue or a bug?
I will say the USF install of 2.4.3 seemed to go good, but i did have some hanging issues when trying to update to 2.4.3-RELEASE-p1. It did eventually update but I never had hanging issues like this with the old hardware.
Has anyone else seen this or have an idea what might be going on?

So I ended up reinstalling pfSense except this time I installed using ZFS. Install went well except once again I ran into an issue updating afterwards. After choosing to update, the installer started and immediately through up an error saying the update had failed. However the update seemed to continue then hung at step 6. I waited for a little bit and nothing changed so I clicked the pfSense logo. Once back on the main page it appeared the the update had completed. I checked the log and it appeared to show a complete update so I am stumped as to why it hung and reported as failed.
As far as the traffic graphs go, they appear to be working normally now. As far I can tell the original installation must have got borked.
Does anyone have any insight concerning these issues? Could it be due to the type of hardware I am now using.

It's unclear what causes that presently. We are actively looking into it. It doesn't appear to be hardware related directly. Rather the update PID file is being removed prematurely for some reason.
You can add anything you think might be relevant here: https://redmine.pfsense.org/issues/8519
Changes will be in 2.4.4 though so testing can only be on snapshots.

Thank you for the reply on this. I'm glad to know that it isn't looking like a hardware issue.
Unfortunately I do not think I can add any relevant information as I didn't try digging in to see what happened.

@tagit446 i solved this problem, i realized that the NTP server wasn't working properly so i turned it off and seted the time and date manually by console. problem solved!
