      Hello Everyone,

      I look around the post here in the forum and I got not result for my query.

      I was wondering if pfsense has a support for wifi vending machine a coin operated wifi hotspot where user will have to insert coin in order to browse the internet?

      I would appreciate all your inputs.

        It supports radius for its captive portal.

        So your vendingmachine needs to add credits to a certain(new) user

        There is no tutorial available on this forum or netgate dear docs. That means some custom coding on your payment service is required.

          What access-points are being used ?

          I'm sure other Wi-Fi equipment also has their own way to support payment based use.

          No need for any coin operated vending equipment, it's not the 1980s :)

            The project will be deployed to a location where such technology is not widely use. People still prefers the old way. I know its kinda jurrasic tho :)

              You could just use vouchers issued in pfSense and then print the codes onto something that can be sold in a vending machine I guess. I've never seen that done but I don't see why it could not be. It would require maintaining though.

                Hadn't thought of that, maybe print out a 1000 one time use vouchers and get a local retailer to sell them.

                  The idea is to simplify the process. The customer would not need to purchase a voucher from tyeh counter or kiosk.
