Is stunnel package working?
-
Hi,
I have used stunnel for years on both Linuxes, FreeBSD and Windows and thought it perhaps would be practical to move those tunnels to the pfSense FW.
However I cannot even get stunnel to start. I also notice that there are several older posts concerning this package and whether it works or not. There are no specific hints in the GUI either so I cannot see anything that looks incorrectly entered.
I have tried 127.0.0.1 as well as the real WAN IP but I cannot force it to start from services page either way.
Hopefully it somehow can be run without WAN IP hard entered since anyone with some kind of dynamic nature of their Internet IP would otherwise be in trouble.Any ideas?
TIA

I had Stunnel working in version 1.2.1, however, ever since I have upgraded to 1.2.2 (or higher) I have not been able to get Stunnel to work. Even after a fresh install the service will not start. I believe it has something to do with the version. I haven't bothered to downgrade to 1.2.1 to see if it will work there.

Ok then, this obviously pertains to several of the problems with packages then, I have encountered quite a few myself but few seem to know (or share) anything in particular that might help.
Cheers,

The stunnel package recently saw some work and updates and last I heard, it was operational. I don't use it myself, however.
The person who made those updates also added some features, and updated the stunnel package page here:
