Any body knows how to identify where installed pfSense: on real, or on virtual machine (VMWare) ?

Am I right in thinking that you're asking how to detect whether or not the OS is running inside VMWare?

The most obvious one is the strings for things like the IDE controllers and disks ("VMware Virtual IDE…").  There are other, low level, checks that can be done too - a common trick by malware authors and by now well documented - if you drop "detect virtual environment" into Google you'll get a long list of useful (and useless) hits, in particular this one.
