I am currently on 2.4.5.a.20180919.0835. I'd like to move to the latest stable version 2.4.4 But cant figure out how to do it. I switched the branch from development to the latest stable version but I am getting a message saying I am on a newer version with no options to move to the stable. Thx.

There is no easy option to do that.
The best way is to reinstall 2.4.4 and restore the config.

You may be able to force it by setting the branch to stable and running:
        pkg-static clean -ya; pkg-static install -yf pkg pfSense-repo pfSense-upgrade

Hi Steve - Setting the branch to stable and running the code did nothing. I am not that savvy to attempt a reinstall via a console / ssh. Seems I am stuck on this dev brach. A shame.

Re-installing to 2.4.4 clean is quick and you can just import the config from 2.4.5, the config version has not been incremented.

You can even do it during the install:
