      Hello ☺

All is in the title !!!

Goal : Improve sight when there is a lot of devices in the list.

      As example :

      • All "online" Status are colored in "Green"
      • All "offline" Status are colored in "Red"

      Regards

You can click on the "Online" label in the table header to sort the entries based on it, this may help.

The status is not useful enough to warrant distinguishing it in that way.

          • Online means the firewall has seen a packet from that device recently (it's still in the ARP table)
          • Offline doesn't mean the device is actually down/off. It only means the firewall has not seen any packets from it recently. It could be turned on but idle.

^ agreed, The online/offline status can be confusing to new users for sure.. It is not very helpful to be honest ;)

The online/offline status would really only be valid if pfsense was actively arping for devices every X amount of time.. And even then the status would only show that something replied to arp for that IP Time-X ago..

All it currently really tells you is that that IP is currently listed in the arp cache - and pfsense arp cache is actually fairly long..
