Hi all, A long time ago I asked if pfSense will respond to DHCP requests sent via the helper from Cisco switch for example. In other words, can pfSense be the server that we point DHCP relay agents to?

Trying to design DHCP into a network that already utilises pfSense for its upstream router, but all VLAN's are routed at the L3 switch core. Hence the best option is to set the helper addresses up on the VLAN SVI's and point them at a DHCP server. Whether this be pfSense or not I don't know.

If those VLANs are connected to pfSense, just configure DHCP on each interface. No need for a relay agent.

        I haven't lost my mind. It's around here...somewhere...

They are not, hence the question....

No. You will need to use another DHCP server.

pfSense cannot currently respond to requests on one interface and respond from multiple scopes.
