SG-8860-1U Red Light No Console

I've had the SG-8860-1U running flawlessly for the past couple years. This morning I attempted to log into the web server, and it locked up. Upon power cycle, the red status light comes on for about 1.5 minutes and then the device powers off.
-There is no console output.
-I've attempted a factory default, but the light never turns green...not sure if will even work in this state
-Attempted USB reinstallation, but the USB drive never seems to be read.
I've seen a few other related posts indicating a similar issue and a fix for the problem, but none explain what the fix is.
Can anyone shed some light on this?
