      Hello,

I am looking to upgrade the SG-5100 RAM from 4GB to 8GB or 16GB. I understand the appliance, based on NCA-1510 board, accepts 1x 260-pin SODIMM DDR4 2400 MHz ECC DIMM. However, I'm not able to locate a memory module of this spec. When I contacted Crucial with those requirements they informed me they discontinued their recommended product of this spec, CT16G4TFD824A and CT8G4TFD824A, and do not carry an equivalent. I found non-ECC versions and slower speed versions, but do not know if they are compatible. Can someone point me in the right direction to the best suited product? I know how to swap a memory module, but am not knowledgeable on compatibility : ) Thanks for the support! Cheers!

I would prob contact sales@netgate.com for such a question.

I contacted sales, but their response did not put me in the right direction. “The specs are all we have. We don't stock RAM upgrades and maybe you just figured out the reason. I know DDR3 is extinct but I am surprised to hear that DDR4 RAM of any kind has been discontinued.”

This is the 16GB I have been using: Crucial 16GB. It's 2133 instead of 2400, but you're not likely to be able to tell a difference.

However, are you really sure you need more ram?

Aside from being 2133 vs 2400, another difference is that Crucial chip is non-ECC. I don't know if it really makes a difference, but the platform says it supports ECC so, why not.

You can never be too careful what with all those cosmic rays flying around and whatnot 🙄

I'm using this (the updated version of what luckman212 has mentioned above):

                    Kingston KSM24SED8/16ME Server Premier - DDR4-16 GB - SO-DIMM 260-pin - 2400 MHz / PC4-19200 - CL17-1.2 V - unbuffered - ECC

(One of the cheapest I could find matching the specs from Lanner NCA-1510 User Manual)
