I'm in doubt of the domain to use for pfsense (and therfore all internal hosts). What is the 'right' way (if there is one) to setup pfsense? I could use domain.com for my local network but could use home.domain.com as well. Domain.com points to an external hosted website but I control the dns so everything else could point to the pfsense server. I guess it's just cleaner to use home.domain.com but are there any other reasons to do so? Is there a wrong way to go, and perhaps problems I cant yet foresee?

      Regards

Best practice is to use a subdomain of your TLD. So if you own domain.com, then use home.domain.com or lan.domain.com. It saves you from having to maintain split DNS.
