NTP or DNS redirection - Detection possible
i just wanted to know whether it is somehow possible for a client machine to detect a NAT Redirection to a local resolver or a NTP time server?
Is this your question https://security.stackexchange.com/questions/46282/how-to-detect-network-address-translation-nat ?
Not exactly. The solution offered in this discussion on stackexchange needs a second server listening on the destination port. Can I go without this server in some way, for example with a protocol specific attribute of NTP or DNS?
@woodsomeister Read again the replies. The OP mentions the case that he can't control the "server", he can't "snif" on that side. So I guess the situation is answered.
You saw the "@JohanGelp You can't. That's how networks work" and the more complicated "Much depends on your scenario." ?
