      Hi all,
Having a strange issue where many of my aliases that use a FQDN for my local domain (example.com) do not populate in the Diagnostics -> Table under the appropriate alias rendering them useless.

pfSense is able to resolve these hostname when I ping them and it seems to be restricted to only a few FQDNs. For instance, the PC I'm using right now resolves perfectly when it's FQDN is added to an alias but my laptop does not (both use a static IP and are members of the domain). Both of their entries exist in the authoritative DNS which pfSense queries.

I also tested having the entries added as Host Overrides in the DNS Resolver but that still didn't allow the tables to populate.

Is there something else I should look into settings-wise?

      Thanks!

If you are not on 2.4.4-p1, first upgrade to that release. It has a completely rewritten filterdns daemon that handles resolving hostnames and populating alias tables.

I was on 2.4.4-p1 but only started experiencing this issue after I upgraded. To avoid investing too much time into troubleshooting, I did a quick backup and re-imaged and haven't had any issues since. Thanks!
