WebGui Keeps freezing
-
Hello (new here)
I just installed my PfSense, logged into browser to make some rules.. everytime i make 1 adjustment in the browser its freezes and after a while (site cant be reached)
I go back into the shell on PfSense and type the pfctl -d command and then i can use the browser again, I have to do this every 2 min ..
im still kinda new to PfSense
Hope some one can guide me in the right direction

Hello,
check your Rules if you have not accidentally established any loops within your traffic or network / Firewall.
This behaviour sounds to me like your Network's getting looped up :-)
If you just installed it freshly and are anyway totally new to the material you maybe would want to reset your Firewall to Factory Settings and start it all over again.
Else, if you want to take a look and learn a lot just start logging everything and have a look at your logs so you can try to figure out what might be affecting this unusual / unwanted behaviour. If it wasn't like that from the very Beginning that it might be a rule that you created or even be a setting you checked...or both. If you have installed many many packages and your disk / cpu / memory usage increased a lot it might even be that your hardware is limiting your actions. (but I dont think so...take heed for the logging everything mention and start trying to figure it out which special rule/s and / or setting/s might flood your firewall) -

What adjustment ?
With the details you exposed, I tend to say : wrong adjustment.
Is it possible that you show or tell us what you try to do ? -

I'd go as far as to say: You sure you aren't connection via the WAN interface or did you by any chance remove the anti lockout rule and so have no firewall rule in place that actually allows you access to the webGUI?
If you have to disable the filter every time you make a change -> that triggers the filter back on of course! -> it's a sure sign, you did sth. wrong with your rules in the first place.
