I need to update my HP Proliant ML10 Gen9 server's BIOS and it requires that the flash utility runs on Linux 64bit kernel 2.6.x or above. Currently Pfsense is on FreeBSD 11.2-RELEASE-p4. What is the kernel version?

That is the kernel version. FreeBSD is not Linux, it's a completely different OS.

As you said : FreeBSD 11.2

          Run

          uname

          or

          uname -a

          to see for yourself.

Edit : and where are the logs ??

Thanks. HP says to use Redhat Linux. Can I use Fedora which is the free version to install the bios?

This is not a HP support forum, search Google for one.

Worked for me with a CentOS Live DVD in the past.
But the easiest way would be to use the ProLiant SPP Disc: http://h17007.www1.hpe.com/us/en/enterprise/servers/products/service_pack/spp/index.aspx
