I have moved this original post https://forum.netgate.com/topic/139204/which-hardware-for-pfsense-should-i-choose from my wrong duplicate account, to this correct original account.

Thanks, however I have reservations as these recommendations seem biased.
This may be why I prefer open source and the pfSense forum separate from a business.
I think these options are far less expensive...am I missing something? http://www.mini-box.com/s.nl/sc.8/.f?search=alix+apu

How about running on Raspberry Pi 3 Model B+ 1 GB?

You can't run pfSense on a Raspberry Pi.

Just need home fast Internet with Wi-Fi. I have a 24 port switch to connect to the home devices.

2220 doesn't seem to have Wi--Fi, but might be okay.
The router sits in the north east garage at the bottom shelf of a 6 shelf metal case. Wi-Fi never reached the west rooms. Might have to place a Wi-Fi AP with a wired backbone to the switch.

even after configuring the mini-box with the basic's the minnowboard to me is still the better buy .

since you have a switch already the extra ports on the minobox will be a waste..

my minnowboard has proven stable no way i personally would buy a knock off
