i am new to pfsense
i am interesting in it because of its dual wan feature
i found in http://forum.pfsense.org/index.php?topic=25.0 that avm fritzcard is supportet
but i did not find out how to "dial a phone number" through a isdn card with pfsense
can anybody help me?

This is a freebsd hardware list. pfSense doesn't support dial up connections like ISDN.

Since this piece of hardware is discussed: (not wanting to "take over the thread" but perhaps…)
Can it be used as some sort of "dial in" device for doing things like remote dial in (e.g. to remotly setting up or configure pfsense or with proxy arp to actually "be" inside the network)?
Just a thought, as my old company used some Bintec devices (X1200...) and they loved being able to dial into a customer location via ISDN to do some remote maintenance.

pfSense doesn't support any kind of dialin connection, neither in, nor out and this is not a planned feature atm.

is it planned that pfsense supports dial in /ISDN in future?
this would be great for me because my ISP does not allow "channel bonding" - but "line teaming/load balance" would work

No, pfSense is focused on ethernetdevices. You might to simulate such a setup with 2 ISDN-Routers with dial on demand/always connected in front of pfSense WANs and loadbalance to these. A bit ugly but shouold work without issues.

If you really like pfSense so much, we (as in my company, not pfSense.org) can be reached to build the functionality in for your specific need. Contact me if you're interested, but understand that it probably cannot be merged back into the main codebase due to the fact that it deviates too far from what pfSense is about. Perhaps it could be a module that someone could install after the fact? (I had thought about this for the token ring thread too…)
I know at some point I'm going to want to build in dsl interface cards and support for multi-link ppp over DSL, but I haven't fully thought through how to get that done.

the ppp.conf might be of help, this stuff uses tun interface, so you will have to expose that to the GUI, as for the rest, that is patches to allow the kyocera EVDO card to work with freebsd. this patchset was for 6.0 iirc or maybe 6.1 beta something.
If anyone wants to continue this, feel free to use what's in the pastebin entries.

now i got 2 isdn router for 2,9€ each at ebay
i hope i will get them soon…
for implemeting isdn/dial in or dsl-card support in pfsense i dont know how many people need this and if it is worth the extrawork
but i think these things would be fine for a lot of people.... -

so i triede these modems ( isdn)
draytek isdn 2000
single isp - ok…..
dual wan - a very very poor performance . only one wan works - btw - both are connected
so ill try both isdn with pfsense netzt few days
ps: i think draytek works - but only in failover mode - and cannot merge 2 wans.....+
of course - not channelbonding - but draytek cannot differ beteween pc´s oder download/skype 4 example...
