I recently got my hands on a i350-t4 (server pull). The nic card works well when I install it onto a computer running windows, but when I install it on my PFSense box, the pc won't boot. My next step will be to reset the bios and flash the nic card. Any other suggestions I should consider? Thanks!

What do you mean, precisely, by "won't boot"?

Does it not get past the POST? Or does it fail later, like when the kernel is probing hardware?

If it doesn't get past POST, then this is purely a hardware/BIOS issue and nothing to do with pfSense.

@jimp thanks for taking the time to reply to my post. The pfsesne pc worked well with an HP NC360T nic card, but when I install the i350 the pc just beeps and hangs. You are correct in that it is a hardware issue. I will try resetting the bios and flashing the nic card. I will post my findings. Thanks

Here is the solution to troubleshoot a PC booting issues after installing an i350-t4 nic card. You will only need electrical tape and a new razor blade. This mod will take you about 5 min. Good luck!

                Wow, nice. ๐Ÿ˜‰

I'll try to avoid that I think! Glad to see you found a solution though.
