I've successfully upgraded my virtual pfSense firewall from 2.3.2 to 2.4.4.
After the upgrade I get the following errors on boot:

KLD vmmemctl.ko: depends on kernel - not available or version mismatch
      linker_load_file: Unsupported file type
KLD vmblock.ko: depends on kernel - not available or version mismatch
      linker_load_file: Unsupported file type
KLD vmxnet.ko: depends on kernel - not available or version mismatch
      linker_load_file: Unsupported file type

The installed packages are the last ones:

      [2.4.4-RELEASE][admin@firewall.local]/root: pkg info | grep -i open-vm-tools
open-vm-tools-nox11-10.2.5_1,2 Open VMware tools for FreeBSD VMware guests
      pfSense-pkg-Open-VM-Tools-10.1.0,1 pfSense package Open-VM-Tools
      [2.4.4-RELEASE][admin@firewall.local]/root: pkg search open-vm-tools
open-vm-tools-nox11-10.2.5_1,2 Open VMware tools for FreeBSD VMware guests
      pfSense-pkg-Open-VM-Tools-10.1.0,1 pfSense package Open-VM-Tools

The strange thing is that VMware network adapters are working correctly.
      The modules are NOT loaded:

      [2.4.4-RELEASE][admin@firewall.local]/root: /usr/local/etc/rc.d/vmware-kmod status
Checking vmmemctl kernel module: not loaded
Checking vmxnet kernel module: not loaded
Checking vmblock kernel module: not loaded
      [2.4.4-RELEASE][admin@firewall.local]/root: kldstat
      Id Refs Address Size Name
       1 5 0xffffffff80200000 2c3ea98 kernel
       2 1 0xffffffff83019000 46c6 cryptodev.ko

How can I fix the problem?

Did you try to reinstall the VMware Tools package?

Yes, I've reinstalled it, the problem is still here.
