I don't recognize that backtrace but it looks like a fairly low-level crash in memory manipulation. Happening after the update may be a coincidence, you might have a hardware issue (memory, heat, power, etc)

Thanks for the reply . I thought it might be memory too but i used to run Sophos UTM 9.0 on the same hardware with no problems till is switched to pfsense. On thing i have added though its a Wemo smart plug and the location of the power source which will be highly coincidental . I also though it might be the processor overheating or something because of the amount of packages i have enabled . Glad to know its not software . I did order a replacement PC so will see how that goes.

Ok so it turns out that it might be the Wemo smart plug. I have had solid 24 hours without a crash how odd.

Unclean power can do all sorts of weird things, so it's not terribly surprising. If you have a power strip or UPS that done line conditioning you could put that after the smart plug, but odds are if you have it on a smart plug you don't want a UPS. Though you wouldn't normally want to shut off a firewall by a smart plug, that harsh of a shutdown is likely to cause filesystem corruption.
