Cannot access this forum from privateinternetaccess.com vpn
-
I am unable to access forum.netgate.com from privateinternetaccess.com vpn for the past 2 days. It has not been a problem in the past. If I switch to another vpn provider then I am able to access forum.netgate.com
What is going on with privateinternetaccess vpn access to forum.netgate.com?

Something like https://forum.netgate.com/topic/136229/vpn-blocked ?

@gertjan Sounds about right. It is time to take a break from this forum. First I need to beg for points then my vpn suddenly gets blocked. Really secured if subscribers are unable to access the forum. As much as I value the quality of pfSense and the expertise found in this forum, Netgate needs to evaluate the damage to its brand from the mishandling of this forum administration.
Maybe it is time to let some competent staff take charge of this forum.

Yes, I imagine that exit IP has been put on one of the blacklists for one of any number of reasons. Unfortunately there's not a huge amount we can do about it. Without basic blacklisting we get more spam than we can deal with killing the forum for everyone.

Netgate is producing a free of cost firewall software (and devices) and as of such, their forum (this one) is getting more and more focused by add-spammers and other robots.
Of course, they will not burn their own ISP-IP (that would make live easier for everybody), no, they use VPN's.
VPN's are used for all kind of usages, not only your reasons. The thing is : these VPN do not all have billions of IPv4 to share, they only own a couple of thousand.
And guess what happened : you, and some hard core spammers choose the same VPN supplier, and, by chance, you inherited the same IP that a spammer has used, on this forum, or another any other forum protected by the same system. Some forum operator on some forum reported a spam from an IPv4, that IP became 'dirty' and and now, you, using the same IPv4, having problems to access this forum (and probably thousands of other).
Yet, you propose that the staff should become more competent.
By doing what ? Opening the gates and cleaning the forum several times a day ? Did you saw the spams that popped up on this forum ? What would you do ? Blocking some IP's, but not those from (some ?) VPN's ?
There are millions of forums on the Internet. For very big forums like this one there are no "20 possible solutions". It has been discussed, the subject is known now, as are the solutions. -
Instead of nagging you could have used the time to just create a VPN bypass Rule in your pfSense for forum.netgate.com

Correct. I just know that I am able to access other forums without difficulty. I do not have to beg for points, I do not need to switch vpn providers. I am entitled to my opinion that these requirements are due to incompetence of those running this forum.

Thought you were on a break.. ROFL!!
I could put you on one if you want ;) Think 2 weeks would be long enough?
If your using a vpn and those IPs get on a black list, sorry that is on you... Not the ones using the blacklists.. Your IP that starts with 184.75, is on the stopspam db from just a few days ago..
And is on multiple other black lists as well..
