Running 2.4.4-RELEASE-p2 (amd64) with only few packages installed (squid, Lightsquid, squidGuard).
When booting pfSense-CE-2.4.4-RELEASE-p1-amd64.iso and reinstall with the Recover config.xml option all settings are restored but without any packages, I can't even see the trigger message in the GUI.
Is this a known and expected behaviour with Recover config.xml ?
I then reinstalled vanilla pfSense-CE-2.4.4-RELEASE-p1-amd64.iso and did the restore via WebGUI Diagnostics -> Backup & Restore, the trigger kicked in and the packages got installed fine.

        Hi @rico ,

Please see https://redmine.pfsense.org/issues/9214. This is fixed in development snapshots.

        Thank you,
