PfSense 2.4.x auto boot problem info
-
Hi
I just raised the dead by foolishly answering in the old thread at https://forum.netgate.com/topic/113293/pfsense-2-3-3-release-p1-will-not-autoboot
My problem was similar in that it didn't auto boot the USB with the installation media, it sat there at the PfSense boot menu waiting for the user input instead of counting down and starting by itself.
It worked fine with OpnSense.
Anyway, I found out after trying a lot of different BIOS/UEFI setting combinations that the culprit for me at least, was using a USB 3.0 port on the machine for the installation medium. When I changed the thumbdrive to a USB 2.0 port the auto boot for the installer worked without hitch.
Sorry again for raising the dead...
Regards
Christoffer
